Medicare Rebate Eligibility
Medicare provides rebates for visits to Accredited Practising Dietitian, when being treated for a chronic health condition, and are under an approved care plan coordinated by a Medical Practitioner.
If you have a chronic disease and are interested in a consult, it would be worth checking with your GP to see if you can get a care plan, since it could provide rebates of $53.80 each session for up to 5 sessions.
If you want to go down this route, I would encourage getting in contact via the contact form to get any information your GP might need.
Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA)
DVA Health Cards (Gold and White) are accepted as payment upon a GP referral.
If you are eligible, I would encourage you to see your doctor for a referral.
Private Health Fund Rebates
Most private health funds may also provide rebates for visits to Accredited Practising Dietitians who are providing approved dietetic services. This may vary depending on the Private Health Fund you are with and your level of coverage.
To find out more, please refer your inquiries to the relevant Private Health Fund you are a member of.
